Hey everyone. Congratulations on getting through the first semester! Enjoy your month off.

Update on the Year so Far

First semester went really well! We have a lot of new members. I know its hard to get everyone out to meetings but I'd say we've had a pretty successful beginning to the year.

Cut and Paste party in September generated some energy within the group. And Our trip to Canzine was interesting to say the least.

We have tons of zines made by group members now, thanks to our 2 week zine project! Congratulations to everyone who published their first zine this year :)

Coming up we will begin work on On the Cusp #2, and preparations for Gettazine in February.

If anyone is interested, we will be meeting in the zine library at 12 noon tomorrow for an hour or so to fix up the zine library, and discuss plans for Gettazine and next semesters schedule for the Sheridan Self Publishers. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend with their input.

If I don't see you tomorrow, hopefully I will see you at our last meeting. We will have one more meeting before Christmas and then it is right into Gettazine, full force.

Next meeting!

Hi everyone!

Our next meeting will be Monday November 10 at 6pm in room A137

Things to bring:
-your 10 strange and interesting photocopies
-small change to make more photocopies if you need to and buy zines
-your printed zine if you did it yourself
-scissors, glue, black and white media
-food and friends

We will be:
-getting updates on Canzine and the Toronto Small Press Fair
-Having a radical time making our collage zine
-Introduce our next zine project (On the Cusp #2)
-Beginning brainstorming for Gettazine
-trading/buying/ looking at each others 14 day zines! (I have Printed Thea's, Brock's, David's, Nick's and Erin's)

Also:

I have decided to buy one full year of advertising for the Sheridan Zine Library in Broken Pencil Magazine. this is costing 75$. We can tlak abotu ways we can raise this money, also, as soon as I get the specs, we will have a design contest to design the ad for anyone who is interested. Winner wins a copy of the latest and greatest book available on zine making: MAKE A ZINE (read abotu it here: http://www.microcosmpublishing.com/catalog/books/1202/ )

NEXT MEETING

hey everyone.

next meeting is this Friday at 6pm in room A137. Dont forget your photocopies. I'll bringt he printed zines and we will bind them up, and have a fun time working on our collaborative zine. Bring food, drink, music, friends etc. This is going to be a fun meeting.

Also: for those of you interested in Canzine: I have cancelled the bus, If we are unable to organize a carpool we will take the Go Train together and save our receipts and I will try and get everyones travel expenses compensated. (October 26)

need help with zine library

if anyone is interested, we will be setting up the new furniture for the zine library and adding allt he new stock
(close to 400 new zines) on monday and we will need help. if youd like to volunteer , meet us around 3:30pm in the atrium at the library (the room with all the plants and chairs and things) this monday. hopefully it will be done in time for the meeting at 6pm.
